Rappelling course

Rappelling course – rappelling and rock climbing courses in Israel

The abseiling- rock climbing course aims to train the participant to carry out climbing activities independently and safely, as well as impart knowledge to deal with various faults and situations that can arise during abseiling [climbing ] activities. In addition, an abseiling course develops the participant’s coordination, in-depth thinking, and technical ability; if they are boys, a responsible and mature attitude is also added. Acquiring knowledge that allows the course participants to independently carry out a rescue activity (rescue climbing ) confidently with the ability to deal with different situations and solve problems on a rope.

The duration of the abseiling course

The duration of the Rappelling course varies according to the time and budget available to the participants.

Location of the Rappelling course

Location: in different areas of the country, for example, Guy Ben Hinnom, located inside Jerusalem or the Shilot cliff near the Shilot junction, etc.

What is the level the participants will reach at the end of the Rappelling course

The level the participants will reach does not depend only on the duration of the course, and other data can significantly influence the level they will reach at the end of the abseiling course, such as the size of the group and the number of trainees per coordination guide, motivation, previous experience, and age.

All the data together will determine the final level the participants will reach at the end of the abseiling course.

How It Works

The climbing course begins with the theoretical phase: familiarization with the equipment, professional ropes tying, and the materials of the equipment. Later on, we will study connections. There are about 11 types of connections that need to be studied. Later in the course, in the practical stages, we will learn another connection. We will learn about rings, and friction means in the following theoretical steps. Mooring and distribution of weights Preparations for rock climbing and building a methodical position.

In the practical stages of the rock climbing course (usually on the second day), we will move to the more interesting, challenging, and experiential practical stages – building a climbing station and start operating it. Later we will learn the basics of rock climbing – how to climb correctly. At this stage, we will learn another knot called two halves of determination, which is a knot that belongs to the practical stages, a knot that allows us to leave our hands from a friction device during rock climbing or a belay and release it easily. Later we will learn a central, important, and long lesson that consists of several chapters. In the practical phase regarding the basics of security, we will learn different security methods. Additional practical steps that we can learn depending on the number of days are.

Forsic type

The transition from climbing to rappelling and from climbing to rappelling
rock climbing contact transition
Security contact transition
Basic troubleshooting with power gain and last climbing
The course for rock climbing studies also provides other things beyond knowledge: development of coordination, technical skills, dealing with fears, and a mature and responsible attitude.

In general, a two-day abseiling course is too short and does not allow one to reach an excellent professional level. Therefore, an abseiling course of 3 days or more is recommended.

We at Ashdot recommend the participants in the courses we deliver learn the necessary connections before the course independently, in the videos found on our website or online.

In the abseiling course in which the participants do preliminary preparation, they gain the following:

Completing the theoretical material faster (on average, it takes about 4 hours to learn the connections) and reaching the interesting practical steps significantly faster.
Maintaining concentration and good absorption. Learning all the connections in one day is a huge mental effort and leaves the campers tired and less focused later in the day.
Of course, the final level of the abseiling course will be higher in the case of early learning of the knots since we set aside half a day for progress in the material.
We will start the abseiling course by testing the campers on the ropes to make sure that they have indeed reached the level required for the abseiling course.
All participants do a good preparation in about 45 minutes to an hour to finish the repetition of the connections and advance in the material.

The structure of the abseiling course and the contents taught in it last over three days:

Professional abseiling course day 1
