I’m Itamar Dardik. These ideas give you a starting point for that conversation. A northern outing and a desert day can both combine activity and time together, but they involve different routes and arrangements. Your departure point, available time and participants’ needs help decide which direction makes sense.

A northern outing: Keshet Cave and a shared meal
One option is to build the day around rappelling at Keshet Cave in the Western Galilee. A meal can be considered before or after the activity, rather than interrupting it. If you want a second part to the day, we can discuss a jeep outing in the Einot Ga’aton area.
I would treat this as a proposed combination, not an automatic package. The order of the activities, meal arrangements and any additional outing need to be confirmed for your date and group. Tell me how much time remains after the journey north; that matters more than how many activities we can put on a list.
A southern outing: Qumran and a desert jeep tour
A different starting point is rappelling in Nahal Qumran, in the northern Judean Desert. One possible sequence is to meet near Qumran, follow the canyon route, then share a meal and continue by jeep in the desert.
The landscape gives this day its character; the activity and the time available determine how we build it.
Choose an activity before adding a second one
Rappelling, jeep tours and ziplines offer different ways to spend time outdoors. Explore jeep tours in Israel or a zipline outing if either interests your group. Then decide whether a second activity adds something useful or leaves the day feeling rushed.
Ask about jeep outings around Nahal Sodom and Mount Sodom, Ga'aton, Kedesh, Shuach or Nahal Samach. Route availability and the arrangements for your group need to be confirmed. Climbing, rope activities or a Himalayan bridge are further ideas to discuss for a suitable site.
| Idea | What the outing centres on | What to discuss before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Rappelling | A guided descent at a cliff site or as part of a canyon route | The location, concerns about heights and suitability for the specific route |
| Jeep tour | Travelling through the landscape with guiding and viewpoint stops | The area, journey time and how it fits around the rest of the outing |
| Zipline | Travelling between points on an installed line using activity equipment | Whether a suitable setup can be arranged for the group and date |
| Canyon route | Walking through a canyon combined with rappelling descents | The route, walking involved, current conditions and participants' needs |
For a canyon-based idea, you can also ask about Nahal Rachaf, the Black Canyon in the Golan Heights and Nahal Tamarim. These are distinct routes, not interchangeable options. Ask about the specific route rather than assuming every canyon involves water or suits the same group.
Leave room for a meal together
A shared meal can be part of the plan, whether you choose the north or the desert. Decide where it fits in the day and tell me your kosher requirements before arrangements are made. Confirm the meal and any dietary requirements with the provider rather than relying on a general description of the outing.
A meal is also a reason to leave space between activities. You do not need to fill every available moment with another challenge. Some groups want a day centred on one activity and a relaxed meal; others want to discuss a combination.

Bring your group’s priorities to the conversation
Your time, budget, preferred area and group composition shape the options. Share your departure point, requested date and what interests the participants. Raise concerns about heights, walking or other individual needs before a route is selected. Ask the operator to address suitability for the proposed activity.
These ideas can also be discussed for employee committees, youth groups or a family bar mitzvah celebration; the activity plan needs to suit that particular group.
These are ideas for a private group outing, not an open trip you join. Ashdot does not run activities on Saturdays. Before booking, read the booking terms and confirm the proposed programme and what is included.
To talk through an idea, send me your group’s details or call +972 52-230-0306. Tell me which option caught your attention and what the day needs to work around. We can then discuss a programme for your group.
