Via Ferrata in the Gita Cliffs – a challenging route to the GitaCliffs
Via Ferrata from the Gita Cliffs is considered a more challenging route than the Menara Cliff. Also, the course route is very horizontal compared to the one on the Menara Cliff, where we go down a steep descent and then climb it on the Via Ferrata route.
At the beginning of the Via Parta route in the Gita Cliff, one has to deal with a traverse (horizontal climb), which can be very challenging to the point of being impossible for those with low physical ability. The starting point is the most challenging during the route, unlike Via Ferrata in Menara Cliff, where you cannot skip parts of the route (except for the final section, which you can skip and return uphill). They usually combine an activity with abseiling in Merat Keshet.
Zipline adventure in the cliffs of Gita
In Via Ferrata from the cliffs of Gita, certain parts can be skipped. During the route, we will advance in a horizontal line for a while without significant ascents or descents. During the route, we encountered two short omegas that required us to use a special pulley designed for the first 8-meter-long cable.
And the second is 15 m long. Therefore, we must equip ourselves with a rope at least 18 m long that will be used to bring the pulley back to us after each surf in the Omega and not as a brake rope since the Omegas were built with a very moderate slope. Of course, if each participant has a pulley, there is no need for a brake rope. During the route, notice that we will pass a huge rock in the shape of a shoe, so look for it.
The recommended time for Via Ferrata in the cliffs of Gita
The route in Gita overlooks the view of the Mediterranean Sea from Haifa Bay and is very exposed to the sun all day long. In contrast to Via Ferrata on the Menara cliff in the afternoon, we will get the cliff in full shade; therefore, in the summer season, the middle of the day can be very unpleasant, and it is recommended to walk the route early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
